Cleaning Products for Deck Cleaning
When using chemicals for deck cleaning, it all depends on what kind of material the deck is made from. For composite and synthetic decking, we often use Sodium Hypochlorite. It is not harmful to the material and easily gets rid of organic growth such as mold and mildew.
When cleaning wood we often use sodium percarbonate or hydroxide, which are lighter chemicals for a natural surface like wood. Once the surface has been cleaned, we recommend neutralizing and brightening the deck with oxalic acid which will restore the woods color from grey weathered wood to a golden blonde color.
